Faculty mentors are strongly encouraged to have a ready-to-go project in order to optimize the Summer Scholar experience. If the Summer Scholar is participating in a project requiring approval from an ethics board (e.g. IRB, IACUC, etc.), early and timely submissions are suggested to ensure an on-time start. If the mentor is collaborating with the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Research Core, projects should begin to be discussed no later than January. For projects requiring IRB review, submissions are suggested no later than March 1st (full-board) or April 1st (expedited). In addition, requesting applicable network access prior to June 1st will assist in expediting the Summer Scholars’ orientation to your project.
If you have any questions, please contact the Summer Scholars Program Director (Alex Knee) at 794-1086.
